SEO Works Search Engine News BLOG
Unfortunately I have been hit by comment spammers and since they added over
500 comments with the most rediculous spams and links I decided to delete the
whole thing. I have also decided to start using a new blog software so that this
won't happen to me again.
Comment spam is about the most low thing anyone can do online. I have read
articles about comment spammers that claim they don't break the law because the
site allows comments. Well,. if a site is about normal things, like this blog
about search engines, also accessible to children, and these spammers think it
is ok to place links to adult sites then in my opinion they should throw the
people in jail and throw a way the key of their cell.

Google Print - Putting Offline Information Online
And again Google shows its innovative side. Google Print is the latest product/service that Google has presented. With Google Print, Google is trying to secure a long future of being a leader in organizing information.
Google Print basically is a service that brings offline information (mostly in the form of books) online. Perhaps not everybody realizes what influence this service can have on the world….

PPC is Great, But Do Not Forget About Search Engine Optimization
What surprises me is that so little attention is given to a very important form of internet marketing, namely: Search Engine Optimization.
While PPC is very important and if the budget allows should not be ignored, it should not and cannot be the only form of internet marketing you use.
Of course, PPC shows direct results, and that is probably one of the reasons it is so extremely popular, but at the same time, it’s a cost factor that never goes away. In order to sell, you need to advertise. If your PPC system has a problem, you don't sell. If (new) competitors decide they can spend more than you, your sales drop. PPC shows direct results, but also direct drops in sales the moment "something" is up (or down).

Google Suggest - Suggestions By Google While You Type
Today I was informed about a new Search Tool on the Google Website, named Google Suggest. It literally starts giving suggestions while you type. And this is actually very interesting both for searchers and Online Marketers.
Why would it be so interesting for marketers to use this tool? Well very simply said: "The suggestions are ranked!"
Ranked based on what? Well lets try some searches:

Backlinks - What Are The Best Backlinks?
Backlinks, backlinks, backlinks,..... The quest for backlinks is a difficult one, especially if you don't have the money to buy links. But even if you do, making sure that you get the best backlinks isn't that easy.
What is the best strategy to increase the number of backlinks? And is the quantity of backlinks that important anyway?
If you go through the SERPs you will quickly find that the number of reported backlinks in Google, but also in other search engines, is not related to the positions in the results. A page in position 1 does not necessarily have the highest number of backlinks. This kind of works like PageRank, the highest position doesn't necessarily have the highest PR.

Free Directories
Anybody that is working on online marketing and specifically Search Engine Marketing knows that you need to submit your website to online directories. However, that is easier said than done. Finding them is a first step, but doing the actual submissions is a time consuming work.
Below you will find a couple of directories that are not only free but, more importantly, extremely easy to submit to. Simple and easy submission processes that make obtaining a couple of backlinks an easy task:
AindaBem Free Directory - Simply go to the category of your choise and add your link.
World Site Index - I really like this one. Simply give your url and it takes title and description from your website. You can then edit it if you like. Probably the fastest submission process I have ever seen and indeed a quality link.
Post your comments to tell about a free directory that is as good as the ones already mentioned above. It needs to have an extremely simple submission process. If it really is as good, I will add it to the article.

The Hard Working Web Site
(Article by Robert Middleton)
Just recently I partnered up with Bob Serling, a kindred soul and a masterful Internet marketer. I did an interview for his new program on selling professional services online and go into great detail about how to get better results with your web site and eZine. (more about the program below).
In looking over my eZine archive I noticed I hadn't done an article that focused exclusively on the web for over two years. So today I thought it would be appropriate to revisit the elements of an effective web site.
If you have a web site, I'm willing to bet that it's not really getting you the results you'd like. Is it attracting new business consistently? Is it helping to speed up your sales cycle? Are visitors signing up for your eZine? Is anyone even visiting the site?
If not, your site isn't working hard enough.

Direct Marketing - Your Site is all Direct Marketing
(Article by Nick Usborne)
This may not be a popular view, but I think writing a web site is very similar to writing a piece of direct mail. I'm not talking about smash-and-grab fliers. I'm talking about those large mailings with brochures, a four or eight-page letter and a reply card.
And no, I'm not saying that the experience or the approach is identical. There are numerous differences too. But the similarities are significant, and can guide us in how we write for the web.

Instant Networking
(Article by Robert Middleton)
Where on earth do you meet like-minded business people and make solid networking connections? Good question, because networking for most Independent Professionals is their number one marketing activity - and their number one marketing challenge.
But you're not alone if the networking events you attend have become stale and routine affairs attended by all the same people who don't seem to have much new to offer.
Whether you attend a morning leads group, a professional association or a chamber of commerce, networking at these events may be producing diminishing returns. So how do you breathe new life into networking? The members of my Marketing Action Groups have come up with some ideas that I think are simply brilliant and relatively easy to do. I'll share just one with you today.
